Engraved Gifts for Teachers – Ideas for the New School Year

The new school year is starting soon, and families across the country are scrambling to get everything in order. Buying clothes, school supplies and presents for teachers. Instead of giving a teacher an apple, I have a few ideas that are much, much better.

For one, think about giving a favorite teacher either from the past school year, or a new teacher, a gift they can actually use on a daily basis. Functional gifts are always the best. This can include a personalized pen and pencil set, a desk set for organization, or anything else they may like and be able to use.

Secondly, think about giving the teacher a timeless gift — something that can be cherished now and in the future. This can be something like a clock, picture frame, or another gift of that nature.

Lastly and most importantly, if you are giving your teacher a gift make sure you don’t give the impression that you are trying to buy grades in any way. This is the absolute worst thing that could happen.

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Giving an Old Friend a Birthday Gift – Find Something Different & Cool

Your good friend that you have known for a long time is having a birthday in the near future and you want to give him/her a special birthday present that will never be forgotten. This is very understandable, but the question is: What to get that will be both memorable and useful.

For one, I suggest giving your good friend a personalized picture frame that can house a picture of the two of you, or a photo of something that is special to them. For example, if you and your friend went on a camping trip 5 years ago and you have a picture they haven’t seen yet, dig up the photo and place it in a personalized frame that describes the trip.

Secondly, consider taking your good friend out for dinner or a night on the town. Sometimes the lack of physical gifts can be a good thing when combined with positive experiences spent together. Gifts can be forgotten but happy memories of time together will not.

Thirdly, consider giving your friend a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant, spa, clothing store or anything else you can think of. This shows thought by recognize the friend’s interests and acting on such.

I hope this article has been helpful and good luck selecting a gift for your good friend.

Giving an Engraved Gift – How to Make a Statement

When giving a gift, something we all want is for the present to make a statement and be memorable. In life there are a variety of ways to make a statement ranging from funky styles of dress to bright colors on advertising material and, when it comes to presents, engraved gifts are the statement maker. They’re distinct for two key reasons.

First of all, engraved gifts show more thought than conventional gifts that are found in every department store across the country. An engraved gift is created specifically for the occasion at hand whether it be a birthday, wedding, anniversary, religious holiday or other gathering. This act of customizing a gift shows the giver went far above and beyond what most people would do when selecting a present.

Secondly, an engraved gift allows the present to be marked in time and never forgotten. Instead of being lost in the garage and covered with dust, engraved gifts stand out from the crowd and, therefore, are not simply shoved aside. Instead, they’re cherished like a trophy or prized possession. This is one of the reasons why engraved presents — picture frames, pen sets, clocks, etc — are my gift of choice for most occasions.

Hopefully this article has shed some light on the benefits of engraved gifts, and has inspired you to change your gift giving way of thinking.

Buying a Birthday Present for a Teenager – How To

As many of us know, being a teenager is tough and giving birthday gifts to teenagers can be just as difficult. Teenagers are prone to peer pressure and often “follow the crowd,” which means not all gifts they receive will pass the “cool test” or meet their standards. I know how this is; been there done that. But it doesn’t have to be this way and I’ll tell you why.

A big problem many parents and loved ones have when selecting gifts for teenagers is their want to give something personal, which leads to presents that are actually too personal. For example, a teenager wants to wear clothes they feel are “in” and match a style they wish to portray. Receiving a pair of jeans from mom isn’t always the coolest gift and this is understandable. Rather than mom giving a pair of jeans, why not a cool engraved pen that can be used in school? Gifts like this are timeless and show thought outside of the box.

Slyly buying birthday gifts for teenagers can also be done through the help of their friends. Take one of their friends aside and ask what the teenager in question would like. Their close friends will surely know. But, if this method is chosen, be sure the friend doesn’t spill the beans.

Moral of the story: Put yourself in a teenagers shoes and give them something that’s universal and not too personal.

Birthday Presents Are What Children Live For

For any child, birthday presents are the world to them! Year after year birthdays come around so fast, and there’s always a desire and a plan to find the right present for a child. Anyone can buy a video game, doll house, clothes or a movie.

The finest way to find a gift is to let the child’s style and taste guide you. You want the gift to be unique but also something that the child will enjoy. Gifts are easy to get when you support an interest that the child may have.  It is always good to shop with them and get to know the child and their taste in things. If they’re interested in astronomy, buy a tour to the planetarium or the observatory. If they love animals, get them tickets to the aquarium, zoo or a 3D film that relates to animals. If they’re into cars, get them tickets or go with them to a fair and do a bumper car adventure.   This gift is great because it gives you time to listen and spend quality time.

You may even find a random interest the kid might have and you can become a mentor to the child. You could bring that interest to life for them. If you can’t find a specific class you can find a special place they like to go, and take a day trip there, even spending the night in. Slumber parties, backyard camping and scavenger hunts are other memorable presents for kids.  You can make the scavenger hunt exciting by using the presents that the birthday boy or girl will get when they solve the puzzles. Kids love games and this would get their energy going. Consider outdoor camping and bike riding and bonfire and barbecue, if you’re short on cash.

You can create a specialized gift basket by adding in their favorite candy or snack, or a new clothing item (sports specific/ teams) and wrapping it all up in tissue or cellophane. This can be low or high cost, depending on what you include in the basket, but it will be a memorable gift.

Kids love funny things.  They find gag items hilarious.  You can incorporate this humor in the wrapping of your present.  Find out a fun, yet cool way to make your present a fun gift to open. Pick the craziest wrapping paper, the funkiest bows, the funniest gag wrapper or token.  Try this, it’s for the kids because they will remember it.
